Best Blogging Resources for Beginners Who are Clueless and Scared to Start a Blog

Please share with your friends!

Are you looking for the best blogging resources for beginners because you want to start a blog, but you are scared and hesitant to start one because you have absolutely no clue how to do it?

Maybe you already know your niche & have the best blog name picked out, but what’s holding you back is all that techy stuff with actually creating a website.

Or perhaps the scariest part for you of starting a blog is that you know absolutely nothing about how to make a website legal and are freaked out that you could get sued over something you write.

These were my thoughts EXACTLY!

As a healthcare worker by day and wife and mom by night, I had zero experience with creating a website.

I am not even that computer literate anymore. I used to be decently computer savvy, but the older I get, the more clueless I feel when it comes to technology.

So I am telling you, anyone can do it if I can start a blog!

Try not to let your fears hold you back any longer. I have wanted to start a blog for the last five years or so. Five years were wasted due to fear, anxiety, and self-doubt.

If I had followed my dreams five years ago, I wonder how different life would be today for my family and me. Would I have been able to cut back hours at work to stay home with my kids?

It definitely makes you think.

Take a minute and think about what starting a money-making blog could help you with. Maybe you are thinking of starting a family and would love to stay home with your babies.

Maybe you want to make extra money because you have debt or student loans you want to pay off. Or perhaps you just want a little piece of the World Wide Web where you can write about things that are on your mind?

Whatever your internal motivators and goals are, please do not let your self-doubt or fear hold you back as I did.

Best Blogging Resources for Beginners: What Do You Have to Lose?

I don’t want you to make the same mistake I made by putting off starting a blog. If you have been thinking about starting a blog and already have your niche picked out, then I would suggest you go for it. What do you have to lose?

That is what I asked myself when I started this blog. What did I really have to lose?

In the grand scheme of things, given the possible earning potential of a blog and the satisfaction and joy that is felt by truly helping your readers, this really is not much to lose. In my opinion, this is a small price to pay to follow your dreams.

It’s a small price to pay to learn a new skill and to have the peace of mind that you and your blog are protected with thorough legal pages.

So today, I am going to share what I think are the best blogging resources for beginner bloggers who are clueless and scared because that’s how I felt.

Best Blogging Resources

Numerous other bloggers are writing posts about resources for beginners and list tons and tons of resources for people just starting a blog. I know because I read them all! Okay, maybe not all of them, but I read a lot.

And boy, was that overwhelming!

That is why I am only writing about four resources and tools to create a blog. What helped me get started was taking it very, very slow. I found that I was much less overwhelmed by focusing on doing one thing at a time.

You need a hosting plan through a hosting company to set up a blog. Once you have a self-hosted blog set up, you only need one awesome course to get your home page setup and learn about writing a blog post so you can produce great content.

Then you need some thorough, well-written legal templates to make your blog legal. Lastly, you will need a support system made up of helpful bloggers that know how to make money blogging and earn passive income with a blog.

Read on to learn about the best blogging resources for beginners.

1. Web-Hosting with Bluehost

The first thing you need to do after you determine your domain name is to secure web-hosting. Bluehost is a great hosting service for your first blog because you can get a free domain name for the first year. Bluehost is also a cheap hosting provider which is perfect for the first few months to a year of blogging when you aren’t making any money.

Once you start getting more traffic and making money from your blog, you may want to consider upgrading your blog hosting to ensure your website is running as fast as possible. Google likes fast websites, so upgrading once you start to get significant amounts of traffic can help your posts rank better.

2. Blog by Number Course by Suzi Whitford

Best Blogging Resources for Beginner Bloggers

After you have secured your domain and hosting through Bluehost, you will want to check out Suzi’s course, Blog by Number. In her course, she gives you a step-by-step tutorial on starting a blog. Suzi has made videos showing exactly what you should do one step at a time. Her videos are thorough and very easy to follow.

And OMG, she is awesome at teaching this stuff! She is bubbly, fun, and has some adorable helpers throughout her course giving you motivation and making you smile.

She breaks her course up into “grades” like you are going through school again.  Each grade builds off the previous grade, and when you “graduate,” you will have a fully functioning blog.

That’s not all, though. She also goes over the basics of SEO and using social media so you can start to increase traffic to your blog right away.

So not only does Suzi give you step-by-step tutorials starting from square one to build your website so you can get started writing amazing blog posts, but she also includes tons of other extras with her course.

She includes information on how to monetize your blog, how to create pins for Pinterest, and so much more.

In my opinion, she over-delivers on her product, big time. I am so grateful and appreciative that she took the time to make all those videos (and trust me, there are a ton!) to help us moms start our own blogs.

Without her course, there is no way I would have figured out how to create my blog. I would have had to spend so much time researching how to do every little thing. She saved me a ton of time and frustration.

You can check out her Blog by Number Course here.

If you still aren’t sure about spending money on her course, she also has a free mini-course called The Blog Plan.

You can always try her free course and see what you think first. That’s actually what I did. Then I decided to buy her Blog by Number course after taking a look at her free one.

As I said, I am super satisfied with the knowledge her course taught me and what it helped me to accomplish. That is why I am telling as many people as I can about it.

I also purchased her Printables by Number Course, but I will review that in another post.

3. Amira’s Legal Templates

Another one of the best blogging resources for beginner bloggers I want to tell you about is Amira’s Legal Template Bundles from

Amira's Legal Bundles

Amira is a full-time lawyer and also a blogger. She has created tons of legal templates to help bloggers get their blogs up and running legally.

Do you know the pages at the bottom of every blog? The Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and the Disclaimer? You have to create all those pages yourself!

Did you know that? I didn’t!

Who understands that legalese stuff anyway? Only lawyers!

Apparently, there are free online generators for those pages, but from what I have heard, they are not very thorough. I did not want to risk getting in trouble legally because I did not have the proper legal information and pages on my blog.

So I purchased one of Amira’s Legal Template Bundles when I started my blog, and I am so glad I did. She has three different legal bundles you can pick from depending on your needs for your blog or business.

She also has tons of individual legal templates you can purchase separately if you only need one or two legal templates for your blog or business.

Do you want to know the best part about her templates? They are super easy to use!

She gives you very specific instructions on using her templates, so it is quick and easy to create your legal pages. I had my legal pages completely done and on my blog within an hour or two.

She creates them so that you all have to do is fill in your information in the highlighted areas on each page. Then you save them and upload them to your blog. It really is that easy!

The peace of mind I feel after using her templates on my blog is awesome. I feel confident that all my legal pages are set up correctly and that they offer me some legal protection if something crazy arises from my blog.

I feel that way because her templates are so incredibly thorough. There are things in there I would have never dreamed I needed in my legal pages.

Seriously, they are so good!

As you can see, I’m quite pleased with the legal bundle I purchased from her.  I am so happy I came across her name and her templates. It definitely was money well spent.

This leads me to my next point about her templates. The bundles, in my opinion, are so reasonably priced.

It would cost you way more than what she charges for her templates to hire a lawyer to draft custom legal templates for your blog. And when you are just starting out every penny matters.

Peace of mind for a reasonable price? Yes, please!

4. A Mastermind Group to Help You Succeed with Blogging

My last recommendation for the best blogging resources for beginners is this blogging group. I was struggling with blogging during my first year. Right around my one year blogging anniversary, a blogging friend told me about this awesome blogging group.

I figured I had nothing to lose since they have a trial membership that costs $1 a month for 3 months. About 2 weeks into my membership I knew I wanted to become a full member. This mastermind group is full of experienced bloggers that are incredibly helpful and legitimately want to help you succeed.

If you are in need of a network of blogging friends to help motivate you and help you get where you want to be, then this is the group to try.

Final Thoughts

These four blogging resources are the only four resources needed for beginner bloggers. If you are doubting yourself about starting your blog because of your lack of technical knowledge about creating a website, fear of legal issues stemming from your blog, or you think the cost of blogging is out of your budget, then you absolutely have to check these products out for yourself.

Check out Bluehost here.
